Warrnambool & District Baptist Church believes that prayer is fundamental to a relationship with God and so encourages Christians to have a healthy personal prayer life as well as to engage in the corporate prayer life of the church. Prayer is also a significant part of the small group program where people have the opportunity to pray specifically for matters of significance in a confidential environment.
Missions prayer group
Our church believes in the power of prayer and seeks to facilitate this in the life of the congregation.
The missions prayer group meets monthly on the second Wednesday of the month. This prayer group focusses on praying for friends who are serving God overseas. Prayer needs are shared in a confidential manner and those praying join the ministry of others in a really practical way.
Church wide prayer meeting
A church wide prayer meeting is held on the first Wednesday evening of each month. The meeting was initially established to pray specifically for the local congregation, but has developed a focus that embraces our community, country and world. Various themes are used throughout the year as a focus for each evening.
The prayer meeting commences at the church at 7.30pm and usually concludes around 8.45pm.
Saturday Prayer Breakfast
The Saturday prayer breakfast provides food for the body and the soul. The meeting begins at 7.45am each Saturday at the church. Participants enjoy a breakfast together (with a gold coin donation to help cover the costs) and then share a short devotion followed by prayer.
Thursday morning prayer meeting
Each Thursday morning everyone is welcome to join the pastor at the church for a prayer time that focusses on the ministry and people of the Baptist congregation in Warrnambool.
This prayer meeting commences at 8.00am and concludes at 9.00am.
Prayer for specific needs
The church has a number of people trained to offer “Restoration” prayer and this service can be made available by request.
