The Warrnambool Baptist Church participates in the Kids Hope program, a program formerly sponsored by World Vision. We have a small team of volunteers who work in partnership with the Warrnambool Primary School on Jamieson Street.
The Kids Hope program partners one mentor with one child for one meeting each week. The school wellbeing team identify children they believe would benefit most from mentoring, most commonly children at risk of failing either educationally or socially at school. Teachers in the school testify to what a terrific difference personalised mentoring makes to children. Mentors also discover a world of opportunity when working one on one with a child. Some mentors have been able to stay with their child through a number of years.
